Today we are escorting to a children's camp in the Polish Vistula children who are truly worthy of a vacation abroad. These are, first of all, children who, due to various circumstances, are unable to get a quality vacation in Ukraine due to their difficult financial situation. Secondly, these are activists of the teenage movement “Active Jewish Teenagers”, who over the past year have been able to realize themselves as madrichs or activists of the community or the “Hesed Besht” Foundation. Now everyone has an exciting ten days of mountain hikes, studying Jewish traditions, the Hebrew language and a wonderful “green” vacation ahead of us from our Polish partners.
The camp in Poland is possible thanks to the cooperation of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht” with the organization “Drzewo Olivine”. For three years now, children from our community have been able to attend camps in the resort town of Wisła Malinka, for which we are very grateful to the hostess, Aunt Gania, and her team of local madrichs and mentors. The main recreational value of this place is the fresh air of the Carpathians and the rich mountain nature. Combined with classes on Jewish tradition, which have a new theme every year, learning the art of playing the shofar, joint Shabbat meetings, and studying the native language – Hebrew – such a vacation is not only pleasant, but also very useful.
