Spring is the time of the first fragile flowers that fill the gray post-winter landscape with color. However, in the Community Center "Thia" of the Khmelnytskyi Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" the flowers appeared much earlier and will delight people much longer. They are made of colorful paper by the caring hands of our women and are exhibited for the general public at the exhibition.
On April 22 at 2:00 PM, an exhibition of works opened at the Thiia Community Center quilling "Flower Vernissage", created by participants of the "Warm House" program, supported by the British Foundation "World Jewish Relief"The event was attended by clients of the Hesed Besht Charity Foundation and representatives of the city's public organizations, with whom we have established friendly and partnership ties.
The exhibition includes twenty-two works, where the theme of flowers prevails. However, there are other images, such as fairy-tale and real animals or masks for the holiday of Purim. The exhibition was created over the past year. Our women began mastering the quilling technique even earlier, with simple works of the same type, such as designing postcards or small three-dimensional figures. But over time, their skills improved and new and promising ideas emerged through joint work in the "Warm House". In addition, the participants of the program devoted a lot of free time to self-education. They obtained magazines on the topic or printouts from the Internet on their own, with the help of the Hesed Besht Children's Charity Foundation. Thus, at the beginning of 2017, the number and quality of the works reached the level of the exhibition.
Even more people came to the opening of the exhibition than expected. This is pleasing, because quilling is not just beautiful, but also good for health! That's right: the technology develops fine motor skills of the hands, has a positive effect on thinking and reduces the level of psychological stress. So from contemplating beauty, people get aesthetic pleasure, and from practicing quilling - a real improvement in well-being. So after the official opening, people came in an unofficial order until the end of the day. Now everyone can view the exhibition: it is free and available to absolutely all visitors to the Community Center. And from April, the works will also be able to be seen in the regions: the exhibition and quilling master classes will be held in the regions of the Khmelnytskyi region.
The organizers did not forget about charity: souvenirs were made separately for everyone, the proceeds from the sale of which go to the charitable needs of the Foundation's clients. These are small, but very labor-intensive voluminous works that can be both a good memory of visiting the exhibition and a separate author's gift to anyone. You can also find souvenirs at the Thiya Community Center.
